Effect of Corner Modification on Forced Convection and Properties of Flowing Fluid Past Static Equilateral Triangular Prism at Various Reynolds Numbers

This paper demonstrates the 2D numerical investigation to determine outcome of corner modification on heat transfer and flow parameters fluid flowing past static equilateral triangular prism. For this purpose, corners are modified in such a way that 1/8 side length prism is chamfered rounded. Prism placed incompressible one its vertices facing upstream. Flow velocity varies as Reynolds number range from 50 150 with an increment 20. Drag lift coefficients sensitive profile At Re 110, rounding caused maximum 6.5% 12.6% reduction observed after chamfering Increasing Root mean square value coefficient (C LRMS ) increase. 150, increased C by 22.3% whereas enhanced it 21.6%. Time-averaged streamlines suggested wake width behind increasing changed profile. Forced convective sharp, rounded prisms discussed terms time space averaged Nusselt which 5% Lastly, spread over presented discussed.
